Formed in January 2007, Sólo Flamenco is the initiative of six friends, all brought together by the art of Flamenco. Carina, Dominika, Lynn, Nathalie, Sarah and Damian met in Dublin between 2002 and 2006.
Having danced with various teachers in Dublin and abroad, it’s under the tuition of inspiring Spanish flamenco dancer and choreographer Felipe de Algeciras that they decide to form a group and perform under the name Sólo Flamenco.
Each member of Sólo Flamenco brings their own culture and dance background to the group, and this diversity makes their strength. What they all have in common is that they’re enganchao al flamenco, addicted to flamenco!
Since January 2008, Sólo Flamenco have been running weekly flamenco classes aimed at complete beginners and improvers.
Students are taught the technique of flamenco, different “palos” (Spanish for dance forms) and are also introduced to the flamenco culture.
